Presiding Bishop Rev. Joseph Ntombura Mwaine is the Presiding Bishop of the Methodist Church in Kenya. He was elected as the 6th Presiding Bishop by the Annual conference of the Methodist Church in Kenya held in August 2012.
He has served in various capacities in the Methodist Church in Kenya beginning with his ministry as a circuit minister. Before his present appointment he was serving as the Bishop of Miathene synod and as the missions & evangelism co-ordinator for the Methodist Church in Kenya.
He is a theologian and an entrepreneur. He holds a BA(Hons) and an MA in theology from the University of Cambridge and a BA(Hons) in business economics.
Rev. Ntombura has a vision of inspiring the Methodist Church into becoming a mission oriented Church. According to him, mission & evangelism are central to Church growth.
As the Presiding Bishop he will also serve as the Chancellor and the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Kenya Methodist University. In addition he is also the Vice Chairman of St. Paul’s university Limuru.
